Meet The Recovery Lab Team
Caitlyn Mcaleese - Founder/ Owner of The Recovery Lab
Coming from a professional sporting background (my main successes were in throwing the Hammer for Scotland and Olympic Weightlifting) I have played all sorts of sports from hockey to tennis to waterskiing. Over the course of my sports career I have witnessed first hand how much sports therapy can help improve performance and reduce recovery time.
I loved the training, the daily grind of what sport brings. In hindsight it's only natural that I would go on to complete a BA (Hons) Sports Studies at Stirling University. In 2013 I started studying massage in the evenings and weekends at AMTS Massage School in Edinburgh. And that was it! Each year I've tried to progress and have since gained diplomas/ qualifications in Swedish, remedial and sports therapy. Fast Forward almost a decade and here we are with 3 Clinics across Fife. Glenrothes, Kirkcaldy and St Andrews
We work closely with professional sportsmen and sportswomen, from commonwealth athletes, local sports clubs and Gyms. Not only sports, I have clients from a variety of backgrounds including the Royal Marines and the Army. It has been a great 7 years learning and gaining experience with a variety of clients.
My ethos is a PROACTIVE approach to RECOVER quicker, MAINTAIN condition and PREVENT injury.
This was spoken by a very famous All Blacks player, and as some of you know, New Zealand is in my blood. This is how we have built 3 clinics in a short space of time because we think and treat the same way one of the world class leading countries treat.

Lauren Low - Physiotherapist
Lauren has always had an interest in sport, playing football from a young age. She has seen and experienced first-hand the importance of injury prevention and rehabilitation which lead to Lauren qualifying with a post graduate master’s degree in Physiotherapy from Queen Margaret University in October 2019 following completion of her Sports Science degree at Abertay University.
Specialising in football related injuries and preventative strategies for common injuries Lauren wants to help people from any sport or activity and has vast experience in treatment of numerous muscle/tendon and ligament injuries throughout the body.
Uniting her physiotherapy and sports science knowledge she can integrate a rehabilitation program inclusive of strength, stretching and mobility sessions. All individually tailored to you, to enhance recovery and performance.
Lauren's goal is to keep you participating in your sport, even while injured, through individually tailored exercises and advice for managing your activity levels while recovering from injury. In addition, she is a great advocate for preventative treatment through massage and strengthening or mobility exercises for muscles which are commonly injured in your chosen sport to assist with the reduction of injury risk.
Outside of work, Lauren plays competitive football, regularly goes to the gym, attends Yoga and Pilates classes while also swimming and walking her 3 dogs. She loves nothing more than being active and promotes the use of exercise/activity to maintain both physical and mental health.

Hi, I’m Emma, I am a Sports Massage Therapist working on Saturdays at the Kirkcaldy clinic.
I have always been interested in sports and also the science behind it. I have a degree in Biology which enhanced my interest in how the body works. I am passionate about helping people and ensure they are feeling their best so decided to study Sports Massage Therapy!
I have always loved a variety of different sports since a young age including swimming, dancing and karate. Now I enjoy attending CrossFit classes to keep myself active, my favourite part of CrossFit is the weightlifting! I also love to take long walks with my crazy Labrador Loki!
I hope to continue to grow my knowledge and experience in the future to ensure I am providing the best service to my clients.
